The Collective are: Steve Norman, John Jones and Martin Ikin. Together they have produced an exciting new track called Promised Land. 'TRUE' ALBUM INSIDE SATURDAYS DAILY MAIL NEWSPAPER!
Also this Saturday - 6th September, Spandau Ballet's classic album 'True' will be available on CD with every copy of The Daily Mail newspaper. This is the first album to be released a part of a series of classic 80's albums that are being made available with the newspaper each day.
'True' was one of the most important albums of the 1980s, and this is an incredible opportunity to own this seminal album on CD, especially for those who bought the vinyl album on its original release.

STEVE AT SOCCER SIX MILLWALL
On Sunday 18th May 2008, Steve once again took part in the Music Industry Celebrity Soccer Six tournament, which this year was held at Millwall F.C. in London. Steve was part of Brandon Blocks "DJ's Team", and despite being ill, he once again gave some stunning performances. Unfortunately, his team were unable to bring home the cup on this occasion, but a great day was had by all, and much needed funds were raised for many worthy causes.

Spandau Ballet’s landmark No1 single celebrates it’s birthday on 30th April
On 30th April 1983, one of the UK’s most enduring, globally adored songs went to No.1 for four weeks in the UK, subsequently reaching this position also in 20 other countries. Spandau Ballet were on a tour in the UK when the single ’True’ was released from their third album (also named ‘True’). Both the single and the album hit the top of the charts and catapulted the band into worldwide superstardom.
Until that point, two singles from the album, ‘Lifeline’ and ‘Communication’, had both made the Top 10 but when the lushly produced, intensely romantic ballad ‘True’ hit No.1, everything changed. The already sold-out tour turned to pandemonium, and security needed to be brought in as thousands of screaming girls descended on the final dates. The band’s first No.1 was then celebrated at the party of all parties aboard a boat trip down the Thames after the band’s performance at the Royal Festival Hall.
To date, the timeless ‘True’ has notched up almost 4 million radio performances in North America alone, according to BMI, and continues to be a favourite on mainstream UK radio play lists and radio stations worldwide. It has been covered and adapted many times by other artists all over the world and has been particularly adopted by the R&B community and adapted and sampled with great success many times by, amongst others, PM Dawn, Teddy Riley, Nelly and most recently Lloyd. The track has also featured in countless feature films including blockbusters Charlie’s Angels, The Wedding Singer and 50 First Dates and many, many TV shows worldwide. It is also soon to feature as the soundbed to a new M&S Food advert. ‘True’ is also, of course, the ‘our song’ of thousands, and a perennial beloved favourite at wedding discos the length and breadth of Britain!
On 5th May, EMI will celebrate this 25th Anniversary by digitally releasing a brand new ‘True’ EP, which will include the original single, a new mix by Gary Kemp and original co-producer Tony Swain, the remastered album version, plus a spine-tingling live recording of ‘True’ and another Spandau classic hit ‘Gold’ from the last show of that infamous 1983 tour, at Sadlers Wells.
This will then be followed in the Summer by a comprehensive Spandau Ballet ‘Sight & Sound’ CD & DVD which will include all the hits and their accompanying promo videos in one package.

WE HAVE A NEW FORUM!
As many of you know our forum was recently moved to a new host; a move which was beyond our control and which subsequently, has caused a lot of problems with the forum, not least, that some of you - and indeed us, couldn't get into it anymore and management of the forum became almost impossible. We have, therefore, moved our forum to a new home, which we hope you will continue to enjoy. We know that it is frustrating to have to build the board up again from scratch
but we hope you will appreciate that it was a decision we really had no choice but to make. We are confident that you will enjoy building the forum back up to it's former glory and creating lots of new fun topics. The new forum has all the features from before including a wide range of emoticons, a great selection of sections to post under, and a brand new chatroom. The forum allows customised profiles with options for signatures, avatars and your own personal messages.
The Shire chatroom parties will continue as before, on Saturday and Wednesday nights, The chatroom may require to you download java but this only takes a few minutes and we have had no trouble with it at all. You will all have to register with the new forum but again, this only takes a few minutes and we hope you will all follow us over to our new home, where we are waiting to welcome you all.

CLOUDFISH & QUINTESSENZA TRACKS
Today we invite you to check out the latest clips on both the Cloudfish and Quintessenza pages. We regularly rotate the tracks on these pages, and today in the Cloudfish section you will find the welcome return of 'Summertime' - a classic track that has been given the Cloudfish twist, whilst over on the Quintessenza page you can now hear 'Memento' which we are sure you will agree is another beautiful track.

ROY OF THE ROVERS UPDATE!
Today we are excited to be able to bring you our Roy of the Rovers special! As many of you are probably aware, back in 1985 Steve Norman was featured in the Roy of the Rovers comic book alongside Martin Kemp. We have now added some details and pictures of Steve's time with Melchester Rovers to the football section, which we hope you will all enjoy. WELL DONE SHELLEY!
As you all know, today Shelley was taking part in the London Bikeathon, a 52 mile bike ride in aid of Leukaemia Research.
Not only did Shelley complete the course but she did it in the amazing time of 6 hours 20 minutes! Steve was there at the end of the ride to cheer Shelley and the rest of the 'Fairweather 5' team over the finishing line. We will have a few pictures from the day online for you shortly.
Don't forget the bikeathon may be over, but donations are still being accepted, so you can still show your support for this very worthy cause. Donations can be made either via Paypal, using the 'Sponsor Shelley' link on the left of this page, or by cheque (details below).

LONDON BIKEATHON
On the 15th of July, Shelley will be taking part in the London Bikeathon 52 mile Challenge Ride in aid of Leukaemia Research together with 4 other ladies of the 'Fairweather 5'. As you may know, Leukaemia Research is a charity close to Steve's heart. His father died of the disease and his mother is a voluntary worker for them. Shelley and Steve are keen to raise as much money as possible, so any sponsorship donations no matter how small would be greatly appreciated. Every little helps.
To make a donation either send a cheque or postal order to Bikeathon, Rex Lounge, Mailbox 4, 30 Woburn Place, Bloomsbury, London WC1H 0JR , made payable to 'Leukaemia Research' . LOVEFOOTBALL - LIVERPOOL - JUNE 30/JULY 1ST 2007
We can today announce that Steve and Shelley will be appearing at the LOVEFOOTBALL event in Liverpool. The event is over 2 days - June 30th and July 1st 2007 - and will be held at ANFIELD STADIUM. As far as we are aware, Steve and Shelley will be apppearing on July 1st however it sounds like a great event so worth going along for the weekend if you ask us! We are very excited to announce that Steve and Shelley will both be appearing at this year's Soccer Six event on Monday 28th May 2007 at Wrexham Football Club. Steve and Shelley are big supporters of the Soccer Six events and were huge favourites with everyone who attended last year. STEVE NORMAN'S MUSICIANS
As many of you know Steve is a very keen footballer and often takes part in The Soccer Six events as well as many other charity matches. Towards the end of last year Steve entered a team, named 'Steve Norman's Musicians', into the Music Business 5-a-side tournament. Due to work commitments etc, Steve's team (which also included Joe Beckett and his son) had to end the tournament by playing their last three games on the final day.
Well we are very proud to tell you that despite being the tournaments underdogs, 'Steve Norman's Musicians' not only won all of their 3 remaining matches, but in fact went on to play in, and WIN the final itself! Many Congratulations to Steve and the team and here's to many more victories to come!
